Negin Saffron are the best quality types of saffron in the world with slight differences. These premia all red saffron types have more coloring power compared to other types of saffron filaments. But, note that all people can not distinguish this difference in the coloring power and maybe, only experts can discern it.
Grade 1 Negin Saffron consists of selected all-red stigmas of Crocus sativus L., with the yellow and white style removed. Negin is recognised by its relatively long, substantial filaments and clean red appearance. Its thread structure is generally longer and more complete than Sargol, while its appearance may be slightly less uniform than Super Negin. To compare these physical characteristics, read our guide to the Types of Iranian Saffron.
Laboratory testing recorded a crocin range of 240–275, indicating strong colouring performance. Safranal was measured at 28–50, while the picrocrocin range of 65–100 relates to the product’s characteristic saffron flavour. Moisture and volatile matter ranged from 7.10% to 7.13%, and no artificial colour was detected.
The combination of long red threads and strong colouring performance makes this product suitable for rice dishes, paella, soups, sauces, teas, desserts, cakes, confectionery and other saffron-based preparations. The threads can be infused before use or added directly when visible pieces of saffron are desired in the finished dish.
Each option is supplied in a metal container placed inside a cardboard box. The dimensions and quantities vary according to the selected weight. The metal container helps protect the threads from direct light and external contact and should be closed securely after opening.
