Sargol Saffron is also grade one saffron, like Negin and Super Negin saffron. With only the red parts of the stigma, the treads are shorter than the Negin and Super Negin in Sargol Saffron and they are not connected to the style. Sargol saffron is also called All-Red Saffron or Coupe in the Spanish market.
Premium Sargol Saffron consists of the selected red stigma portions of Crocus sativus L., with the lighter yellow and white style removed. Sargol is characterised by its fully red appearance and comparatively shorter filaments, making it suitable for applications where colouring strength, aroma and flavour are more important than exceptionally long decorative threads. To compare its physical characteristics with other varieties, read our guide to the Types of Iranian Saffron.
Laboratory testing recorded a crocin range of 235–260, indicating strong colouring performance. Safranal was measured at 28–50, while the picrocrocin range of 65–100 relates to the product’s characteristic saffron flavour. Moisture and volatile matter were measured at 6.79%, and no artificial colour was detected.
This product can be used in rice dishes, soups, sauces, teas, desserts, cakes, confectionery and other saffron-based recipes. Because Sargol threads may be shorter than Negin and Super Negin, they are particularly practical when the saffron will be crushed, infused or incorporated into other ingredients before serving.
The saffron is supplied in a metal container placed inside a cardboard box. This format provides a compact presentation while helping protect the threads from direct light and external contact before use.
For other products in the same physical format, explore our saffron threads selection. Products with the same saffron type are available in the Sargol saffron category. More information about Esfedan as an Iranian saffron supplier and its wider product range is available on the company website.
