Pushal Saffron Threads – Gohar Pack

Grade 1 Pushal Saffron consists of red stigmas connected to a small portion of the lighter style of Crocus sativus L. This gives the threads a natural, less extensively separated appearance while preserving the characteristic colour, aroma and flavour of Iranian saffron. The product originates in Iran, one of the world’s principal saffron producing countries.

Quality assessment recorded a crocin range of 220–250, indicating strong colouring performance. Safranal was measured at 28–50, while the picrocrocin range of 65–100 relates to its characteristic saffron flavour. Moisture and volatile matter ranged from 6.40% to 6.54%, and no artificial colour was detected.

Pushal saffron can be used in rice dishes, soups, sauces, teas, desserts, cakes, confectionery and other saffron-based recipes. The threads may be infused before use or added directly when visible pieces of saffron are preferred in the finished dish.

Each option is supplied in a food-grade polystyrene container placed inside a cardboard box. Although the dimensions and quantities vary according to the selected weight, the packaging helps limit direct contact and exposure to light before use.

Directions for Use

Gently crush the desired amount of saffron threads using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. Add hot water at approximately 70–80°C and allow the saffron to infuse for 15–20 minutes.

Add the prepared infusion to rice dishes, soups, sauces, teas, desserts, cakes or other recipes. The threads may also be added directly when visible pieces of saffron are desired in the final preparation.
