Negin Saffron are the best quality types of saffron in the world with slight differences. These premia all red saffron types have more coloring power compared to other types of saffron filaments. But, note that all people can not distinguish this difference in the coloring power and maybe, only experts can discern it.
Grade 1 Negin Saffron consists of selected Iranian saffron threads with a clean red appearance and relatively long, well-developed filaments. The lighter yellow and white style is removed during processing, leaving the red stigma portions valued for their colour, aroma, flavour and visual presentation. To compare Negin with Super Negin, Sargol, Pushal and Bunch, read our guide to the Types of Iranian Saffron.
Quality testing recorded a crocin range of 240–275, exceeding the specified minimum of 230 and indicating strong colouring performance. Safranal was measured at 28–50, while picrocrocin was recorded at 65–100. Moisture and volatile matter were measured at 7.19%, and no artificial colour was detected.
Negin is distinguished by its relatively long, all-red stigmas and clean filament structure. Compared with Sargol, the threads are generally longer and more complete. Compared with Super Negin, the appearance may be slightly less uniform, while still retaining the characteristics associated with premium all-red saffron.
The product can be used in rice dishes, paella, soups, sauces, teas, desserts, cakes, confectionery, dairy products and other saffron-based preparations. The intact filament form also allows users to inspect the product visually before crushing or infusing it. Other products in the same physical format are available in our saffron threads selection.
The saffron is supplied in a clear plastic pouch placed inside a cardboard envelope box. This packaging provides a compact presentation while helping protect the threads from direct handling and environmental exposure before use.
Saffron requires intensive cultivation, manual harvesting and the careful separation of a small usable portion from each flower. These factors contribute to its value and are explained in our guide to the Expensive Spices in the World.
Products with the same thread classification can be compared in the Negin saffron category. Customers looking for other pack sizes and saffron formats can buy saffron through Esfedan’s product range.
